Qualifications:
I have trained for 6 years to Post graduate level in Ayurvedic Medicine at Middlesex University. Prior to that, I have studied various courses in Ayurveda over the past 25 years, including traditional 'Pulse Diagnosis' which in my experience is a 'lost' discipline to most trained in an Indian BAMS course.
.
.
I also have 30 years full time experience teaching Transcendental Meditation and received a docorate in the Science of Creative Intelligence in 1998.

Treating the whole person:
Ayurveda is a system that looks at the whole person, two people may have similar symptoms, but from differing imbalances or causes. The therapeutic approach is to find the underlying cause, and then stop aggravating that fllowed by establishing better (more natural) patterns of behaviours and lifestyles, before strengthening areas of weakness. The client should feel as if 'coming back home', that everything which is being recommended feels comfortable, and in keeping with one's intuition. So often we do things because we are 'told' that this is the correct thing to do, even if it makes us feel more uncomfortable. Such as eating a big meal after a late shift when we are tired! Really what we should do is have a small snack and go to bed!
.
.
Many conditions which the allopathic approach does not have an answer for can be helped with Ayurveda. For example I have had special experience in helping clients deal with the side effects of chemotherapy, and many digestive (bloating/ constipation IBS Crones etc) and energy issues which have sucessfully been helped.
.
Much of the advice you will receive in a consultation is simple, but too often overlooked. I may supplement this with herbal preparations and even some dietary, exercise/lifestyle advices all to fit within your work and financial constraints.
.
.
Courses:-
I also hold many training courses in Ayurvedic medicine from short 2 hour sessions, full days to longer courses over the academic year. These can give a real insight into Ayurveda and act as a precuser for the University courses, which should give statutory regulation with the Health Professional Council, allowing one to practise within the NHS.
